Syracuse Circle Monthly Meeting Guidelines

1

Anonymity

We ask that what is discussed within the Circle remains there. Some may feel comfortable sharing their experiences, thoughts, or feelings more publicly, but it is the responsibility of the group as a whole to protect the identity and stories of any and all members. We also ask that no physical contact be made among members without verbal consent. Our first mission as a community is to provide a safe space for all and we can only achieve that through respecting the boundaries and identities of all of our members.

Respect

2

Many stories will be told and many thoughts and feelings will crop up. As a community we must listen and observe but never put ourselves into a position of attempting to “cure” or “heal” another who is having/ has had an experience. Personal opinions or input, along with any therapeutic suggestions, should be withheld. We also ask that no cross-talk or interruptions take place while another is sharing and that “I” statements be used while sharing. This will help to avoid projection and prevent unhealthy attachment from developing in relation to the experience of another.

No Judgements

3

We are here to make one another feel validated and seen. For many joining us, one of the largest obstacles that they encounter in their experience is communicating it to another without the backlash of disbelief and ridicule. Although some of what you may hear in these meetings may inspire skepticism and seem unbelievable, we ask that you refrain from judging another person’s experience. We are all present to seek knowledge and community and judgment will only hinder us on that path. We also ask that you not try to define the meanings of another’s experience as each experience is specific to the individual.

All Experience Is Valid

4

The topics that we will explore are vast. UFO/UAP sightings and non-human contact experiences are as unique to an individual as they can be similar in a group setting. The wide range of experiences is not for the Circle to judge and any and all will be welcomed in to our meetings. Though we are not a group that focuses specifically on the paranormal, we accept that elements of that topic and our own will have overlap from time to time.

Keep An Open Mind

5

No one within the Circle is an expert. None of us are specialists or professionals within a field of study. In the greater mystery that brings us all together, we are all equals. Many of us will, and have, come to our own conclusions and theories about what might be happening. While personal explorations and conclusions are encouraged, we ask that you keep an open mind to all possibilities. None of us has the answers individually. We seek our knowledge as a community.
