My name is Matthew Kelly and I was born in Syracuse New York. Throughout most of my life I have encountered experiences that I cannot explain. My mother is a psychic and I myself have found I have unexplainable abilities in the area of premonition and energy sensing.
I have dedicated most of my professional life to working in human services, all the while studying psychology, medical sciences and therapeutic methods surrounding mental health processes in my free time. I have always been a self-study type of student and have attempted to be as well informed and knowledgeable as possible on any topic I tackle.
The Syracuse Circle was started out of a desire to understand my own life long experiences with the paranormal and non-human intelligence as well provide a safe space for others like myself. I hope to apply all I have learned in the world of human services and counseling to a method that makes others feel seen and validated.
I often feel that I exist in a dreamworld of beauty and potential joy. I want to try to grasp it, sink my feet into the ground. I see the whole world as real real and also as a symbol and an evocation. I have a lot of ideas about the way we communicate and maybe create spiritual realities. I’m interested in translation and the phenomenon of language and the way language evokes and builds knowledge and nuance through its slipperiness, and associations through its separateness from and relatedness to the things it describes. I think a lot about the way concatenations of language create and invoke as well as allow for others to communicate with us through a shared medium.
I love cats and dogs. I love music and books, yoga and meditation, prayer and walking. I want to ride my bike and swim more. I hold a PhD in religion from Syracuse University, wrote a dissertation on Helena Blavatsky’s Isis Unveiled and have published a book chapter on Dion Fortune. I became interested in alien phenomena and experiences directly through the works of Whitley Strieber, but the groundwork was laid by long-term interest in the occult.

I am a believer. I believe that consciousness exists beyond the body, psi abilities are real, and the vast majority of experiencers and witnesses are telling the truth.
I am a community builder and facilitator, and see my role as someone who provides services and support to those experiencing unexplainable phenomena.
